FIRMA L'APPELLO A SOSTEGNO DEI LAVORATORI AFRICANI DI ROSARNO!
Each year, in autumn, until well into winter, thousands seasonal workers, mainly African, arrived in Rosario in the province of Reggio Calabria, for citrus harvesting. Regular or illegal, refugees or asylum seekers, all gather in the heart of the plain of Gioia Tauro, 2000, maybe 3000, each year, at least two decades.
On January 7, 2010, in Rosario, some African workers are being targeted with an air rifle, fired from a passing car as they were hit by wild animals during a safari. It follows a revolt that will mark the tipping point in a downward spiral for three days, in Rosario, will rise to almost the Civil War.
Italy, Europe, 8 January 2010 the Government of the Republic deports thousands of people from their place of life and work, just based on skin color, and declares Rosarno off limits to people of color.
Disperse, without even the few possessions they had to flee, no home, no money, no job, no rights, invisible and helpless, these people now wandering the cities of Italy, exposed to cold and hunger, with no prospect .
One hundred of them are in Rome. Guests of some realities of movement, formed the first Assembly of African workers Rosarno in Rome. The regularization
first! This demand, this should get.
Give them welcome. Fighting for their right to exist, the right to have rights.
